Animation time

This is what I've been working on in AfterEffects for the past 5 days. I'm hoping to finish the thing by 5pm today so I can work on my other homework (likes painting things!) which will yield more interesting blog-type things. The assignbment is to make a video that acts as a self-portrait, using at least 30 different "elecments", two transforms one ach element, and music. The finished video will be posted here as well! later. When it is finished.

The aniamtion isn't turning out the way I wanted because I didn't have enough time to plan out a theme, so it's sort of a hodgepodge of personal thoughts clumsily adhered together with a sort of me-riding-a-panda-through-things theme.

...yeah.

Costumed Figure Day 01

Monday night was Costumed Figure drawing. I'm taking it again as an Independent study with a focus on developing a style and putting together a series of finished, unified works for my portfolio. We spent the first day drawing from projected images. I am switching to ink/watercolor next week and will continue to work with them through the term.

Small things

I have been drawing every day, it's just hard to find the time to scan and piece together everything for the blog. Apologies.

I've got some things from class to post, too, tomorrow. Then I have a comic to make and some watercolors to work on, and after work I have to install After Effects so I can get cracking on homework. This term is going to kick my butt.

I'm terrified but also excited.

Back On The Bandwagon

Okay folks, I'm back. I didn't do a lot of serious work over the break (I had these great plans to do so many things and I didn't do ANY OF THEM BAH!) but I am also no longer an emotional mess, so I'll consider it healing time. I did doodle a lot, and that's what I'm posting today. I've misplaced about 3 pages of greeting card and painting brainstorming, and I'll post those when I find them.  I forgot to scan the paintings I did for friends for Christmas so that's a flop. oh well.

UGH! Glad that's over with.

And that's it so far. I am SUPER STOKED to start school again, oh man!

I am still working on Nimble Norman, though the actual writing process is taking way longer than I expected. Hope to have it completely finished and written by the end of the month so I can move onto the thumbnails and sketches in Feb-March.

Oh Man Watch Out

So, I went and tore my life apart the past week or so, and am slowly sewing it back together. I went through some pretty major changes that totally redirected my future, and derailed a lot of present things, hurting at least one person deeply. Anyways... Here are some emo sketches I did.

Character re-design

Is came to my attention last class that the design for the main character in this book I'm working on is too old-looking (he looks like a teenager). SO I've been working out a younger-looking design.

Brain Melt

So, school is murdering me and finals are coming and work is full of things and I'm helping to develop a training program for tutors at the school and I am dealing with some overwhelming personal stuff right now.

I have made some art things but they are all half-finished, done-on-the-bus things and I will post them as I finish them.
