Finished a little self-portrait. Used it as a banner image on my portfolio website http://laurabullerillustrations.weebly.com/ and will be using it on my business cards. Yay!

My Little Brony
The boyfriend is a fan of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, and I sketched him as a pony a while ago for fun. I finally finished coloring it in today!
He's right, I don't really get it.

Doodles
I've been taking it fairly easy the past few days- getting a few personal projects started, doodling, taking care of housework and catching up with old friends.
I have been asking for suggestions of what to draw on Facebook for my cool-downs.
Here are some of them from last night.

Ren Faire Lady
Character sketch based on a lady at the Renaissance/fantasy faire. One of many I hope to do over break. I had to do her first, of course, because she has my FAVORITE HAIR TO DRAW EVER. Oh man.

Bedtime Burrito
I have a bad habit of wrapping myself up in all of the blankets into what Tom refers to as a "bedtime burrito". Then he has to wake me up and unwrap me so he can have some blankets. The image (which I am never awake enough to witness) tickled me so much I had to doodle it.
Some More Development Stuff
Here's some of the stuff I worked on this term.
A little background work for my Robin Hood story - Robin's tree hut in the Russian woods.
Here are some character studies for The Boy King.
This is the main character, Edi. I want to take him to a finish- I'm still not sure which color style I like best.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I wanted to color it. I kept compiling different styles for reference, and then nixing them, compiling a new set.... etc. Humbug. I want to try again, completely simplifying things. Flat colors, clean pencils. Hm.

Magic At Night: Revisited
After some pointers from a couple of teachers, I reworked this and I like it much better now!!
Finals are here. I am brain. Brain am dead.
Here's another illustration from the same project I've been working on.

Magic At Night
A small illustration from the story I'm building; "The Boy king". Feedback is most welcome!
Also, here is an updated lineup with adjusted cat and a new character (Edi's thuggish bully of a cousin).

Cast Line-up
Some of the cast for that story I'm working on for school. It's still missing 4 members (The three Princes/villains and Edi's antagonistic adoptive brother).
Gunna work them in this weekend, if I have time after I get an illustration busted out.
I also don't like how the Lynx's legs are. I need to investigate that more.

A Painting and Some Laaadies
Here is a little color study of a character from the story I'm exploring for my Senior Studio class. This project is going waaaaaay slower than I'd like. I lost steam halfway through and have been chugging along at low steam since. It's based on the Sword in the Stone but set in 17th century India. This is the main character (the orphaned king)'s best friend, Sai. She was horribly burned as a toddler and often hides her face with a scarf. She climbs better than a monkey and is daring and mischevious.
Watercolors on paper.
I crashed the costumed figured drawing class on my first day free after leaving my retail job. The model was a bit stiff/bland, and it took me a long while to get into the swing of things but I had so much fun! I want to do some watercolors of some of these.
