More Guache and Ink

Still playing with that technique. BMO is from Adventure Time and belongs to Pendtleton Ward and Nickelodeon.

This next one was me playing with colored inks. It did  some pretty unexpected things. The pigment bled into the paper underneath the guache, so there was some residual color left when it was washed away (The ink was brick red but it bled pink under the guache). Also, this ink isn't as permanent as the black I've been using, and much of it was washed away, leaving a strange bluish tone and a faded look. It was so neat to discover!

I

I am still loving this technique. Gunna keep it up!

Character Thumbnails: Deflated

I've been working on the concept for the second character in our 3D production. This one is even tougher than the first!

We finally decided to make her a woman. Still concepting- lots of feedback!

Also, here are a couple of turnarounds from the same class of the first character.

Boy did this ever teach me just how much I need to practice my turnarounds, I tell you what! Anyways, we're still trucking through and I am doing lots of this kind of stuff right now (also making all of the style guides because I really need them or I start feeling adrift!), which isn't all that pretty but is important for the process. Sometime soon, hopefully, I'll get into some color and lighting studies!

She is such a cutie!

Lost Guache Technique

David Hohn showed me this amazing technique and I can't stop using it and none of these really have anything to do with my homework WHEEEE!

Mowgli's Brothers: Early Concept Sketches

These are from very early in my conception process for my Mowgli's Brothers illustrations, before I really knew where things were going to go.  I was doing some animal studies and stylization.

Hourly Comics Day 2013

Hey, I actually managed to do this again! YAY!

Hastily toned comics, coming right atcha.

Mowgli's Brothers, Revised Tones

Here are two tonal studies for my illustrations for Mowgli's Brothers, revised from the first batch. I am still working on the middle image; I had to go back to the concepting stage with it. I still have some more changes to make, and I really want to play around with media and textures on this so I am looking forward to taking these and messing with them!

I have some more edits to make (The placement on the wolf's leg, Mowgli's whole body is wacky, etc).

Medieval Maiden

Another costume figure class! This model was very conservative with her poses, but the costume itself was pretty fun to draw! I left early to work, but here's what I got out of it.
