A Skeezeball and His Hip Hop Pug

I am working on some character for another class. Andy Warren Hall is a creepy 42-year-old antique salesman who never quite recovered from the 70's, has too much money, and never learned to respect women.

Boss Hog is Andy's spoiled, ugly, fat pug. B.H. runs amok in his 1980's hip-hop outfits and causes trouble, but Andy always just laughs it off.

AHHHHHH pugs are fun to draw. I can't wait to really refine these (mostly B.H.).

More Character Thumbnails

Still working on ideas for the character from our short film. The instructor specifically asked for more variety,  though we narrowed down some keywords, so I'm working in an interesting set of parameters! Still working. Haven't found the perfect one yet.

How to Make a Lady

We're working on designing the main character for our 3D short. Here are a few pages of thumbnails I've done so far.

Got a bunch more yet to do, our art director wants a lot of variety to choose from!

Mowgli's Brothers: Rough Tones Round 1

Hey guys, I'm working on a 3-image storytelling illustration sequence with one of my instructors (as well as an awesome peer) to guide me. The story is "Mowgli's Brothers" from The Jungle Book. I'v chosen three key moments in the story, and am working on building the best representation of those moments in 3 images.

SO far the advice is as follows:

Image 1: LOVE the style, break up the shapes a teensy bit more (paws? fur?)

Image 2: Back to the drawing board. The concept isn't bad but I was trying to bite off too much. Revisit thumbnailing, try to reinterpret.

Image 3: Dutch the camera the other way, put Mowgli into perspective, give his body a bit of twist/force. Flatted the shapes more- bring it into the same style as Image 1. Make the wall behind Mowgli Black, and invert his shadow.

Back to work!! =)

Unicorn Pigs and Some Dudes

Some unicorn pigs because doodles are fun.

Attended a costume figure drawing class last week (and modeled for it this past week!).  We worked from photos on the projector this time around, since it was the first day and it's best to ease everyone into it. Worked in ink. I threw some color on them in Photoshop.

Lady Turnarounds

Some turnarounds. The to lady's side view is all wrong (at least her head). I need to correct it.

Ladies Line Up

I'm in a collaborative class this term than merges students from the Fashion department with students from the Animation department. We animators were tasked with coming up with a few characters for the fashion students to use as inspiration. Here are my sketch ideas. I'll pick a couple and do turnarounds and full character descriptions for them.

A New Year, Some Big News!

Hey guys!

I Spent the Holidays with my family in Belize. It was beautiful there, but not very inspiring art-wise. I did, however, document this true event in comic form:

So... EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! =)

I also drew some dudes we met in Belize, a hut on the water, and a doodle for 2013 while we drank rum and waited for the fireworks to start.

School is back in swing, and I'm anxious to show you more work so be ready!
