Freestyle Warm-ups
A design warm-up; space ships based loosely on 1950's "futuristic" feelings.
And some warm-up doodles.
Oh man. I have internet again. Also, working on portfolio, and re-doing an Aftereffects project from last year. Trying to land myself an internship in the next 6 months.

Brainstorming
Whoever said aimless doodling gets you nowhere had no imagination.
A lot of these are "I don't feel like a drawing exercise, let's just draw things" doodles. Some of them are brainstorming ideas for some postcards and paintings I need to do.

Melisandre Finished
Heeeeyyyy I colored Melisandre! Well, kind of. She's not where I'd like her to be but I have to go draw other things now so....
Melisandre is from the series "A Song of Ice and Fire". She is completely crazy, seductive, fiery and exotic and likes to set people on fire for her big fire god. So... here is kind of how she looks in my head. Originally this was just a study of this pose but then I got to sort of adding clothes and thinking about the book I was reading and she came into being.
Melisandre is (c) George R.R. Martin.

WIP Melisandre
I finished book 3 of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire". I am waiting for book 4 to arrive.
Meanwhile, I drew Melisandre. She is crazy. Whoah.
I feel like she doesn't look old enough. I'm going to keep working on her and then color her. YAY.

Fanart Friday: Monster Pulse
You guys, Monster Pulse is an awesome comic by Magnolia Porter. Julie and Kera are awesome. Here is a fan art I made of them!
And now you HAVE to read the comic!!

Beautiful Storytelling With Simplicity
Forewarning: Since I had to close my social networking accounts for reasons I can't explain right now, this blog willl be more... bloggy. But only with art-related things, I promise. It's partly because I want to catalog these things so I can reference them again later, and partly because GUYS YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!!
So, if you're into storytelling, storyboarding or anything like that and want an amazing example of simple, well-thought-out introduction to a character with zero dialogue, look to the opening sequence for Batman; The Animated Series. I'm serious.
Here's a comprehensive breakdown of why this is so brilliant http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/11/04/ask-chris-78-why-the-batman-the-animated-series-opening-is/
While you read that, I'm watching Batman; the Animated Series and drawing some fan art (because it's FRIDAY!).

If you can donate or at least pass around
A friend of an acquaintance was put in a coma by a drunk driver recently, and they need help footing some of the bills. I am super fortunate to not be in this poor girl's shoes. I am going to see if there is anything worth auctioning of my stuff, but if anyone who reads this has things they want to donate or can at least pass it along, much oblidged.

Candy Disorder
We didn't get any trick-or-treaters this year which left us with the grueling task of devouring 5 bags of candy all by ourselves.
I have absolutely no willpower at all. Yeesh.
