Cast Line-up

Some of the cast for that story I'm working on for school. It's still missing 4 members (The three Princes/villains and Edi's antagonistic adoptive brother).


Gunna work them in this weekend, if I have time after I get an illustration busted out.

I also don't like how the Lynx's legs are. I need to investigate that more.

A Painting and Some Laaadies

Here is a little color study of a character from the story I'm exploring for my Senior Studio class. This project is going waaaaaay slower than I'd like. I lost steam halfway through and have been chugging along at low steam since. It's based on the Sword in the Stone but set in 17th century India. This is the main character (the orphaned king)'s best friend, Sai. She was horribly burned as a toddler and often hides her face with a scarf. She climbs better than a monkey and is daring and mischevious.

I crashed the costumed figured drawing class on my first day free after leaving my retail job. The model was a bit stiff/bland, and it took me a long while to get into the swing of things but I had so much fun! I want to do some watercolors of some of these.

 

Random Lady Brienne

Warm-down for the evening- a 10-minue sketch of the Lady Brienne from "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. I did it from memory... may have gotten the colors wrong, I dunno. Anyways.

Drink and Draw Doodles

We played drawing telephone and discussed plans for a zine book at the last drink and draw. But I got some random doodles in as a warm-up while we sorted ourselves out and ordered our big kid beverages, food, etc.

One of my pals was trying to sort out character designs for a giant cavewoman. Out of curiosity, I messed around with some shapes too to see what I could come up with. Here's my rendition (I'm sure hers will be much more exciting)...

Here are some miscellaneous doodles. I filled a few pages but a lot of it was crap or thumbnailing for other things. The girl is a character from a "Sword in the Stone" adaptation I'm working on. The left side of her face was burned badly as a child.

Then there's a dragon head and a guy with a rad moustache.

And finally, my greatest creation of all time- Mrs. Weenie.

That's it for now! Got a painting and a large tonal drawing to scan and post later this week, and hopefully some more storyboards. School is kicking me right in the butt-place! I can't wait to have an extra few hours to go to the figure painting class in a couple of weeks (quitting one of my 3 jobs).
