Doernbecher Hospital RAD Room Mural

Hi guys! I graduated and then got some miscellaneous odd jobs. Here's the process of a mural I painted with a team of artists at OHSU's Doernbecher Children's hospital. The goal was to make the scary x-ray room more fun and exciting for the kids. There were two other rooms that had been painted previously, so we had a style guide to follow. Our room's theme was "lunar adventure". They already had these neat galaxy images over some of the lights in the ceiling for inspiration.

Here's what it looked like before we started.

Then we started in. We spent the first 3-4 days just working in the background. There was a lot of collaboration, but he had an art lead to point us in the right direction.

The last few days we needed to have our individual characters and scenes fleshed out. Here are some sketches and concepts I developed throughout the project.

And the big finale!

Some more finished shots.

(I was primarily in charge of the two kids playing with dolls and the tall long thing and the set of drawers with the "space ship".)
